What is Reweigh?

A reweigh is an accessorial charge carriers charge shippers to reweigh a shipment and identify its correct freight class. Reweighs are often paired with reclassification, another type of accessorial charge.

Less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments require a National Motor Freight Classification® (NMFC)® freight class created by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA). Learn how to avoid this charge by reading our Freight Resources blog.
