What is Reclassification?

Reclassification is a fee carriers charge shippers to reweigh and reclass to their shipment with the correct freight class that ranges from 50 to 500.

All less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments must have a National Motor Freight Classification® (NMFC)® freight class provided by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA).

Learn how to find your commodity's freight class to avoid reclassification fees by reading our Freight Resources blog.
