What is Liftgate?

A liftgate is a mechanical platform installed on the rear of freight trucks to load/unload goods at locations without loading docks or forklifts. Liftgates help load a trailer from ground level to the truck bed or directly from the truck bed to the ground level.

Liftgate services are an accessorial charge to complete a shipment. Shippers must request a liftgate-equipped truck prior to a scheduled freight pickup to avoid service delays or redelivery fees.
