What is Full Truckload (FTL)?

Full truckload (FTL) is a shipping mode that dedicates one semi-trailer to one shipper's freight. FTL typically moves between 15k to 50k pounds of freight or 26 pallets single-stacked pallets (or 52 double-stacked pallets).

Dry van, reefer, and flatbed trailers commonly move FTL loads as they have the adequate dimensions and weight capacity for larger volumes of freight. Read our Freight Resources blog to learn if shipping FTL is worth it for your freight.
