Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC)

The Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) is a U.S. industry-standard identification system to exchange transportation data between carriers, shippers, freight forwarders and other logistics stakeholders. 

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) is the official issuing authority of Standard Carrier Alpha Codes, often paired with a Progressive Rotating Order (PRO) number to track domestic shipments.
