What are Shipping Skids?

Skids don’t have a bottom deck, which means they only have a single surface where the goods are loaded. They can easily be dragged throughout a warehouse, much like a pallet can.

These platforms also provide a certain level of stability that can be beneficial for specific types of loads, which include:

  • Generators
  • Construction equipment
  • Furniture
  • Long pipes
  • Medical equipment
  • Precision instruments

Skids are useful in situations where height restrictions could be an issue. These platforms are slightly shorter, which means taller varieties of cargo can pass height requirements.
