PRO Number

A Progressive Rotating Order (PRO) number is a 7 to 10 digit number typically paired with a Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) to track U.S. freight shipments. The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) defines SCAC codes and carriers assign PRO numbers to track shipment progress.

PRO numbers are commonly used to identify and track less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments. When a shipper has multiple pallets sent to the same destination, the same PRO number is used on each pallet.
