Domestic Incoterms

A way of referring to the use of international shipping terms by domestic shippers in the U.S.
Tag(s):

What are Domestic Incoterms?

To clarify, there are no such things as Incoterms created specifically for use in domestic freight deals.

Created by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Incoterms are used by sellers and buyers to understand one another better when conducting international  transactions.

The Domestic version of Incoterms leaves out many of the international aspects of a sale and leaves in the aspects that are relevant to a domestic shipment. Shippers in the US are using these scaled down versions of Incoterms to better clarify the responsible parties during the shipping process.
