What is Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)?

Although Incoterms are far more in line with international trade deals, they are becoming increasingly popular among domestic parties in the US to clarify responsibilities of major shipments.

With Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), sellers have more control over the shipment instead of the buyer. They are able to choose both the carrier and the methods of transport.

Unless the shipment just so happens to cross international borders traveling to Canada or Mexico, the import and export portions of DDP can be set aside.
